The People's Card Shop is hosting an official Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME Regional Qualifier in Las Vegas on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the Alexis Park Resort. This is a Konami-sanctioned Tier 2 event where duelists compete for invites to the 2026 World Championship Qualifier (WCQ), exclusive Regional prizing, and World Qualifying Points. We run a Regional in Las Vegas roughly every three months, and our recent events have drawn 100+ duelists from across the Vegas valley and beyond.

We're running two Regional Qualifiers side by side — an Advanced Format Regional and a Genesys Regional — plus a Dragon Duel for younger duelists and a full slate of public events.

Event Schedule

  • 8:00 AM – Registration opens (in person only)
  • ~9:45 AM – Registration closes; late entries begin with a Round 1 loss
  • 10:00 AM – Round 1 of the Advanced and Genesys Regionals
  • After Round 2 – Dragon Duel begins (early afternoon)
  • 1:00 PM – Public events begin (Advanced Win-A-Mat, Genesys Win-A-Mat, Master Duel)

Regionals are Swiss-format events, so the number of rounds — and how long the day runs — scales with attendance. Plan to be on site for several hours.

The Regionals

Advanced Format Regional

Entry: $22.50 (plus tax & fees), including five booster packs of the latest Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG core set. Constructed, Advanced Format, best-of-three matches with a 50-minute time limit. Decks must follow the current Advanced Format Forbidden & Limited list. A deck list is required.

Genesys Regional

Entry: $22.50 (plus tax & fees), including five booster packs. Genesys uses standard rules with a few changes: no Link or Pendulum Monsters, the Advanced Forbidden & Limited list does not apply, and deck-building uses a 100-point cap across your Main, Extra, and Side Decks. Genesys is fully supported in the NEURON app for point-checking. A deck list is required. Learn more about Genesys.

Each Regional is its own tournament — pick the one you want to play. Both award WCQ invites based on that event's attendance.

Prizes & Invites

Every entrant receives five booster packs on entry. After the final round of Swiss:

  • Top 8 – each receive a WCQ Regional Game Mat
  • Top 4 – also receive a Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Card Case
  • WCQ invites – awarded from 1st place down, based on total attendance (below)
  • World Qualifying Points – earned toward the World Championship WQP Playoff
Attendance Invites Awarded
4–49 4
50–99 8
100–149 16
150–199 24
200–299 32
300–499 48
500+ 64

Prizes are awarded on final Swiss standings — there is no Top 8 playoff cut.

Public Events

Not playing the Regional, or dropped from it? Public events start at 1:00 PM. You can't be enrolled in a Regional and a public event at the same time.

  • Advanced Win-A-Mat – $13.50 (plus tax & fees), 3 booster packs, Advanced Format. Win the mat.
  • Genesys Win-A-Mat – $13.50 (plus tax & fees), 3 booster packs, Genesys Format (100-point cap). Win the mat.

Dragon Duel (Ages 13 & Under)

Free entry for duelists born in 2012 or later. Advanced Format, Swiss, deck list required, and proof of age is needed (copy of birth certificate, passport, etc.). The Top 4 earn a WCQ invite and a Regional Game Mat, and 1st place also takes home a Regional Card Case. The Dragon Duel starts after Round 2 of the main event.

How to Register & What to Bring

Registration is in person at the venue on the day of the event — there is no pre-registration. Doors open at 8:00 AM; register by roughly 9:45 AM to avoid a Round 1 loss. Here's what to have ready:

  • A CARD GAME ID. Free via the Yu-Gi-Oh! NEURON app (iOS/Android). You can also get one on site if needed.
  • A photo ID — current-year school ID, driver's license, or passport. Duelists under 16 can bring a copy of their birth certificate, and a parent/guardian must sign the registration form.
  • A completed deck list (required for both Regionals and the Dragon Duel). Fill it out ahead of time in NEURON or on the official KDE-US deck list PDF — it must be legible and match your deck exactly.
  • A tournament-legal deck and your play supplies (sleeves, dice/counters, pen and paper for life points).
  • Your entry fee plus cash for food, singles, and public events.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register for the Las Vegas Regional?

Register in person at the Alexis Park Resort on August 8. Doors open at 8:00 AM. There is no online pre-registration — bring a photo ID, your CARD GAME ID, a completed deck list, and your entry fee.

How much does it cost to enter?

$22.50 plus tax and fees for either Regional, which includes five booster packs of the latest core set. Public events are $13.50 each (three packs), and the Dragon Duel is free.

Do I need a deck list?

Yes — a legible deck list is required for the Advanced Regional, the Genesys Regional, and the Dragon Duel. It's not required for the Win-A-Mats or Master Duel. Fill yours out ahead of time in NEURON or the official KDE-US PDF.

What's the difference between the Advanced and Genesys Regionals?

Both award WCQ invites. The Advanced Regional uses the standard tournament format and Forbidden & Limited list. The Genesys Regional bans Link and Pendulum Monsters, ignores the Advanced ban list, and uses a 100-point deck-building cap instead. Pick whichever one you want to play.

Is there a Dragon Duel?

Yes. It's free for duelists born in 2012 or later, requires proof of age and a deck list, and starts after Round 2 of the main event. Top 4 earn a WCQ invite and a Regional Game Mat.

How long do matches last?

Matches are best two-out-of-three with a 50-minute time limit. The whole event is Swiss format with no Top 8 cut, so the number of rounds depends on turnout.

Do I need a CARD GAME ID?

Yes, and it's free through the NEURON app. If you don't have one, you can get it on site, but downloading NEURON and grabbing your ID beforehand saves time at registration.

Is there parking at the venue?

Yes — parking at the Alexis Park Resort is free.
