What Is a Yu-Gi-Oh! Regional Qualifier?
A Regional Qualifier is a Konami-sanctioned Tier 2 tournament and one of the primary ways to earn an invite to the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Qualifier. You don't need to pre-qualify to enter — any duelist with a CARD GAME ID in good standing can play. Regionals are Swiss-format events, so the number of rounds scales with turnout, and prizes are awarded on the final Swiss standings.
- WCQ invites are awarded from the top of the standings, scaling with attendance.
- Top 8 receive a Regional Game Mat; Top 4 also receive a Card Case.
- World Qualifying Points are earned toward the World Championship WQP Playoff.

What to Expect at Our Regionals
Every People's Card Shop Regional runs multiple tournaments in one day so there's something for every kind of duelist:
- Advanced Regional – the main event, Constructed Advanced Format. Entry is $22.50 (plus tax & fees) and includes five booster packs of the latest core set. Deck list required.
- Genesys Regional – same entry and packs, played in the Genesys format (100-point deck cap, no Link or Pendulum Monsters). Deck list required. Learn about Genesys.
- Dragon Duel – free entry for younger duelists (born 2012 or later), with WCQ invites for the Top 4. Proof of age and a deck list required.
- Public events – Win-A-Mats, Master Duel, and more for anyone not in the main event, usually $13.50 (plus tax & fees) for three packs.
- Vendors on site – grab singles, sealed product, and supplies before you sit down.
Matches are best two-out-of-three with a 50-minute time limit. Exact entry fees and prizing are set by Konami and confirmed on each event's page.
